Suicide Prevention Training

Hertfordshire County Council and Samaritans are delivering FREE suicide prevention training to public sector frontline staff and personnel working in voluntary sector organisations in Hertfordshire. The training provides an opportunity to learn how to:

  • Understand risk factors that can lead to thoughts of suicide.
  • Recognise signs of suicidal thoughts and ideation.
  • Develop skills to have a conversation with someone at risk
  • Engage someone in conversation sensitively and effectively.
  • Explore strategies to keep someone safe.
  • Refer someone to the emergency and/ or support services.

Promoting Mental Wellbeing Through Physical Activity Programme

Hertfordshire County Council Public Health are currently funding 15 local projects that are promoting mental wellbeing through physical activity. Activities range from football to yoga to gardening.
